What is the PCBA manufacturing process?
Feasibility manufacturing analysis
ZMS engineer will give a full check for all the manufacturing files from clients, and set up the production plan and procedures that needed to be done.ZMS engineer will arrange PCB production.Bom sourcing
ZMS purchasing manager will arrange PO to our stable electronics component suppliers in all catagories: chips, resistors, capacitors, connectors LEDs, inductors, relays, fuse, crystal oscillator, ect. Our clients is free to deal with different components suppliers and paying seperately. What is more important, ZMS is managing all the component risk in one roof, you don't need to worry about fake components or production wastage causing part missing.IQC (Income materials checking) process
After PCB and all components was collected, ZMS QC team would give a fully check. We must make sure the PCB fully matches the order specifications and for the components, fake or defective components is definitely not allowed.SMT Assembly Process
SMT Assembly process is the most efficient modem electronics production process for placing SMD components, by sending the bare PCB into a rail and place solder paste accurately on PCB solder pads through a stencil, and then the PCB will go into the Pick&Place machine.Because the pick and place file was setup in the machines as its working procedure, all of the components will be placed on the PCB in super fast speed according to accurate X and Y axis.After all SMD components was placed, the PCBA will gose into an reflow oven and gradually heating up till 260℃ to make sure the solderpaste fully mealted and the SMD components will be welding perfectly on the PCB.THT Assembly Process
After SMT process, if the PCBA board designed with through holes components, we need to gose into the THT Assembly process, also called DIP Assembly technology.The production theory of THT assembly is sending the PCBA by rail and inserting THD components correctly on PCB by labor or automatic machines. After all the THD components was inserted, the PCB will gose into the wavesoldering machine, there is a tank of boiling tin is waiting for the PCB to pass by, the PCB will gradually immersed all pins in the top of the boiling tin wave.When the PCBA come out of the machine, the pins will be welding on the PCB.Functional Testing
This is for those clients who do not have labor or don't want to do this job in their country, they can choose to let ZMS team complete this job in Chinese factory.Usually, there will be a firmware to be programmed on the MCU, and the clients need to list all the steps in the documents to show us how to do it step by step. ZMS project manager and engineer will follow clients' instructions, and send videos and test results to confirm all the process.In our experience, let ZMS complete the functional test for your PCBA in China would help to decrease the risk of your electronics productions. -
How do you guarantee PCBA quality?Quality Control is always the most concerning of PCBA production, any wrong components, wrong placement or any solder quality could cause the whole PCBA failure or damage.Except the local factories we are working with must fully compliance with the ISO9001, Zero Mistake Solution team is been strengthen learning and training of employees in international quality control standards.We will follow below quality control process:IQC(Incoming Quality Control): To check all of the materials before they could gose into production line, make sure they fully compliance with the quality standard.IPQC(In-Process Quality Control): In the production process, we will implement QC for each step, including QC with machines or our QC staff.For example: In our SMT line, we will use 3D SPI(solder paste inspector machine) to check if solder paste was placed accuractly; we will use AOI(Automated Optical Inspection) to check the SMD components assemply quality, this will help us very quickly find out problem and avoid the future quality issues, if you want to learn more about it, feel free to contact ZMS.FQC(Final Quality Control):After finished assembly production for PCBA or products, our QC will do functional checks and visual checks.OQC(Outgoing Quality Control):Before the product delivery, ZMS team will carry out final inspection according to AQL sampling rate to ensure that the shipped product meets 100% of customer requirements.For more details, please check this article: What quality inspectations will be proceeded in PCBA manufacturing?

How do we cooperate if we need to outsource the functional testing job to ZMS?Functional testing usually includes firmware uploading and functional testing.Our client must share the firmware and guide us with work instruction. ZMS supports uploading firmware to MCU on PCBA board or on chip.ZMS engineers have experience in customizing test jigs for mass production according to the test requirements, which will help to improve production efficiency.ZMS also supports aging test for client's requirements.
